The health and safety of our clients, communities, and families are more important than any legal or business matter. The tragic loss of life and suffering experienced by the families who have been directly affected by the coronavirus is incalculable. The effort and sacrifices made by frontline workers during this time are impossible to overstate. Brian and Barry are committed to doing anything possible to assist those who have been directly affected by the virus, and those who have been working on the front lines throughout the pandemic.
Owen & Owen has been operating in accordance with the guidance provided by government health officials since the spread of the virus. We are conducting all meetings via video or teleconference until further notice. To the extent that an in person meeting is necessary, we will take all possible precautions to ensure everyone's health and safety.
We also stand ready to assist small businesses that have undergone changes or experienced difficulties due to the pandemic and widespread shutdowns. As small business owners ourselves, we understand that the past several months have been so difficult for small businesses.
State and local court systems have been shutdown for extended periods of time over the past several months, and those that have continued to operate, or have begun operating again, have changed their practices significantly. Most courts are still conducting hearings via video or teleconference. This changes how lawyers will operate, and may delay the resolution of some litigation for a time, but it should not significantly impact the remedies and resources available to our clients. We will keep all our clients advised of the changes in the courts over the coming months, and will counsel any potential clients on how these changes might impact their legal matter.
